Education ****************************************************************************************** * ****************************************************************************************** Characteristics of the Studies The doctoral studies are conceived as a preparatory programme for scholars and researchers endeavours contribute to the development of theory and research in the field of education programme aims preferably to enhance their relevant expertise, to disseminate relevant res and trends in the field of education and tocultivate methodological competences of doctora General focus of the study programme offers students the chance to get acquainted more dee pedagogical disciplines. The focal point of the doctoral study is a doctoral dissertation/ as an original scholarly work whose findings enrich the respective field of study within t context of developing the discipline. Individual Study Plan (ISP) Ph.D. student in the cooperation with his/her supervisor draws up the ISP where the studen specifies study obligations. The main accent will be put on the controlled self-study and scientific-research activities. The ISP, approved by the Doctoral (Subject Area) Board, in compulsory subjects, study obligations, other obligations and recommended activities. It h planned terms of exams and the time line of the work on the dissertation. Obligations for student: - the ISP has to be submitted no later than two months after the start of study - the Report on fulfilling of the study plan has to be submitted after the end of each aca later than the end of September Compulsory subjects finished by examination 1 subject of Methodology 3 subjects from the proposition of the field of study of Education Study obligations with the output: confirmation of the fulfilment of the study obligation The work on the extended annotation of the dissertation and its submission at the end of t study. The offer of subjects and seminars relevant for particular categories: click here [ URL "P version1-kurzy_v_aj___pedagogika.docx"] Other obligations which the student has to satisfy during the studies: Conference activities - at least three participations; the active participation at 1 confe residential country – the programme and the abstract of the paper in English have to be su active participation at 2 international scientific conferences with English as the officia programme and the abstract of the paper in English have to be submitted Publication activities – minimum 3 essays in English in the scientific journal or peer-rev Participation at the scientific and pedagogical activities of the training workplace Entrance Examination Candidates for doctoral studies in Education are expected to: • Show interest in education in general (for example, by taking part in scientific confere conferences for teachers, taking part in research teams, working in educational institutio • Have an overview of the most important scientific journals and books related to educatio shall send, along with his/her application, the list of literature (books) from education related disciplines that he/she has read, as well as scholarly journals in the filed he/sh with. The list of literature will form a basis for discussion at the entrance examination. • Deliver in advance (must be sent together with the application), present and defend a cl high quality research project proposal of up to 10 pages (see below for specifications). The entrance examination is an oral presentation of the applicant in front of the entrance Research project proposal The theme of the dissertation should correspond with thematic areas chosen by supervisors The research project proposal (should be up to 10 pages long) shall include: 1. Characteristics of the research topic/area and its relevance, a literature review on th its theoretical background. 2. Formulation of a research problem and specific research questions. 3. Description of the methodology chosen to answer the research questions. 4. Plan for realisation of the research project. 5. References (all works cited in the text) The entrance committee evaluates the quality of the presented research project proposal an defend it in a critical discussion. Candidates are admitted to study if they meet all admission requirements a) officially-verified certification of completed undergraduate degree (Master´s degree pr b) to pass an entrance examination, reach minimum number of point determined by the Dean, c) to meet any other requirements specified by a given field of study. Evaluation Criteria will be rated from 1 to 10 points, with a maximum score of 10. A minim points is required for admission to the study programme. Consultations Due to the nature and content of study, the applicant may consult the theme, the structure and possibilities for its processing with potential supervisors of doctoral studies.
