Department of Biology and Environmental Studies

Teaching

The Department of Biology and Environmental Studies provides training for biology teachers of primary and secondary schools. These studies are structured (a bachelor and master degree) and based on a combination of two disciplines.

The specific combinations change during time, eg. Biology – Physical education, Biology – Pedagogy, Biology – Russian language, Biology – Chemistry, Biology – Mathematics, Biology - Social sciences and the others.

The Centre for Environmental Education and Training operates within this department, which annually announces a students award of "Ecology and Environmental Thesis of the Year".

Scientific activities

Of significants are scientific activities of the department and cooperation with foreign universities with student exchanges. There are possibilities to continue studies in PhDr. and PhD. degrees after completing a master's degree.
