Department of Special Education

Teaching

Department is focused on teacher training regarding education of children and young people with special educational needs. It also provides training for special-educational support of people with disabilities at all stages of life span. Studies are structured to bachelor and master level. Teacher training offers following combined studies: Special Education and Czech language, Special Education and Arts (full time), Special Education and Health Education, Special Education and Education (part time in master level). Specialisation in Special Education is divided to assessment and counselling module and speech therapy (logopedy) – surdopedy module.

Scientific activities

Department has accredited Ph.D. study program in Special Education. Department cooperates on international research projects with Universities in Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Australia. Its members are respected authors and researchers.
