22 October 2020

Dear students,

Due to the still rapidly increasing numbers of Covid-19 infected people in the Czech Republic and the dangers this means for our health system and hospitals, the Czech government had an emergency meeting today in the morning and a few minutes ago announced new protective rules with the validity from tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, 2020, 6 a.m.

These rules are:

1) Limitation of freedom of movement - possible is to get groceries or hygienic or pharmaceutical products, go to work and back home (or to teaching hospitals and back home if you study Medicine), to a doctor, or go for a walk or to nature – but no travelling for leisure is allowed (hotels and accommodation capacities will be closed for tourists)

2) If going outside for a walk, max. 2 people can go together

3) Shops are closed with the validity from tomorrow, with exception of those selling essential products (open are grocery shops, pharmacies, drug stores, tobbacco shops selling newspapers and flower shops)

4) Most services are closed – such as hairdressers, nailsalons and similar

All of this is valid from tomorrow, October 22, until November 3 at present. If any of the measures are prolonged, we will inform you.
