The 32nd International Conference of the International Society for Hymnology (IAH) in cooperation with the Department of Music Education of the Faculty of Education and the Department of Czech Literature and Comparative Literature of the Faculty of Arst, Charles University and with the Evangelical Church in Germany (Evangelische Kirche in Deutschland, EKD) will be held from Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August 2024 in Prague (Faculty of Education, Charles University). The excursions will take place on the following weekend (3/4 August).
The conference theme is: “Faith in Song – More than 500 years of Hymns in print and practice. The Czech Hymnal 1501 and its descendants.” In addition to the academic part, the conference programme includes morning prayers and services in the churches of Prague, led by members of various denominations, a hymn festival and other events. Two full-day excursions will take place during the following weekend.
